Elderslie
Elderslie is a supported living service, which offers accommodation to three individuals with complex needs. The house is of modern construction situated on the main road in Elderslie. The residents are supported by a small-dedicated team of staff and are within easy access to all local amenities.
For the first time this year due to new legislation passed by the Scottish Executive, the Care Commission inspected our supported living services.
The residents moved to Elderslie as part of the de-commissioning of Merchiston hospital in 2004. It is now almost two years since the residents moved in and the progress they have made has taken everyone by surprise.
They have slowly but steadily built up an active social life and all three have discovered the excitement of going on holiday.
In a recent Carers Questionnaire, a relative wrote “The improvement in my sisters awareness, general health and appearance has given me great peace of mind, knowing that she is being cared for so well. Each and every member of staff has made my family and myself very welcome and at ‘home’. They not only do their job to the highest standard, they also have enthusiasm for trips, holidays and nights outs.”
